In the month of July Abu Bekr Court #74 held their NCHI Walk on July 27th,2024 @10am, The venue was Gershwin Park located on Linden Blvd between Van Siclen & Vermont Street, This was not a fundraising event, the reason the walk was held so late is because the walk which was previously scheduled for the July 14th 2024 and had to be rescheduled due to the weather.
The presentation for the month of July was on the Value of Saving Cord Blood, and the fact that historically umbilical cord blood was discarded with the placenta as medical waste, Over the past few decades cord blood has been shown to contain stem cells and early precursor cells that can be used for life saving stem cell transplantation for children and adults in need of a stem cell transplant.
